The Desert Ridge community comprises 5,700 acres in the northeast valley, between Phoenix and Scottsdale. It is comprised of communities like City North, Toscana of Desert Ridge, and the Desert Ridge Condo Community. Desert Ridge is also home to the Mayo Clinic Hospital campus, which opened in 1998, and is widely regarded as one of the best hospitals in the United States. The Desert Ridge Marketplace—located off the SR 101 at Tatum Boulevard—is a 1.2 million-square-foot retail, dining, and entertainment center that has been open since 2001.
Also located in the community is the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, the largest hotel in the state of Arizona. Within the property is the Wildfire Golf Club, which has 36 holes of championship golf, a day spa, restaurants and bars, and more than 250 time-share units. Additionally, the Desert Ridge area is near schools in the Deer Valley Unified School District, Scottsdale Unified School District and Paradise Valley School District.
